Construction is underway on the contentious Interstate 20/59 project. The ALDOT plan to replace aging bridges on the interstate through downtown Birmingham began with the permanent closure of the 17th Street exit off I-20/59 northbound. The project has the city’s business community concerned as investors and developers work to revitalize the area in and around downtown Birmingham. We talk more about that in this week’s Magic City Marketplace with Ty West, editor of the Birmingham Business Journal.
