New Scholarship Opportunity

College-bound students in Alabama have a new opportunity to fund their education. On Tuesday, State Treasurer Young Boozer announced the creation of the new CollegeCounts Scholarship program. It’s aimed at students who are often overlooked for financial assistance. To qualify, a student must: have:

  • ACT score of 21-26
  • minimum GPA of 2.75
  • demonstrated financial need

More requirements and application deadlines are listed here. The scholarship is a one-time award of $4,000 for students enrolling in an in-state four-year college and $2,000 for students enrolling in a two-year college.
